So we’re driving home last night and little Miss is getting a little, shall I say, fussy, in the back seat so I start to flip through the channels on XM to see if I can find the Disney channel or something that will entertain her. Frankly I still struggle to remember the worlds to all “her” songs and prefer that someone else sing Itsy Bitsy Spider while I drive.

So as I’m flipping I land on Snoop Dog & Dr Dre, “Nuthin But a G Thang” circa 1993. Focused on the stop and go traffic I forget to keep channel surfing. 30 seconds in I look in the rear view since the unrest from the back seat has ceased to find Abbey bobbing her head, in rhythm while tapping her foot on the back of the passenger seat to:

First thought: boy is Daddy going to be disappointed cause you don’t get that excited for AC/DC

Second thought: (more like a vision), Abey at 18 dancing on the stage of some cruise ship in a bikini to a 2029 rapper

Third thought: my kid has rhythm – thank God she takes after her father!

Fourth thought: I wish I could drive and record this at the same time (no, I did not attempt it. The last thing I need is to be on the news for being the mom who inspired a new law “driving and filming”)

Let’s just say I chuckled the rest of the way home while my gangsta kid enjoyed the alternative to her usual Ol’ McDonald raps.
